St Vincent’s Private Hospital required a television reception and distribution solution as part of the construction of a new section of the hospital. The project required the Foxtel and Sky satellite dishes, together with the Free-to-Air (FTA) antenna, to be installed on top of the new section, while the existing headend location was approximately 300 metres away in the original section of the hospital.
To overcome the distance between the reception equipment and the existing headend, DigiSat designed and delivered a fibre optic distribution solution specifically for the site. The system was engineered to transport the received television signals reliably between the two sections of the hospital while maintaining the high level of signal performance required for uninterrupted Foxtel and FTA reception.
Given the critical nature of television services within a hospital environment, reliability and system stability were key considerations throughout the design and installation. DigiSat selected and configured the reception and transmission equipment to provide robust, consistent performance across the hospital’s television network.
All reception and transmission equipment installed as part of the solution is also capable of remote monitoring, allowing DigiSat to identify potential issues quickly and respond before they result in significant service interruptions.
The project demonstrates DigiSat’s ability to design bespoke fibre-based television distribution solutions for complex commercial and healthcare environments, with a focus on reliability, remote system management and uninterrupted service delivery.
